Fortune: To know the road ahead, ask those coming back

Explanation: Say you were on Pine Avenue and you were about to turn onto Oak Road (the road ahead of you) and you don’t know what’s on Oak Road, so you don’t know what to expect. Are there restaurants or shops on Oak Road? Does it twist and turn? Does it dead end? Is it pretty?

Say there are some people are walking on Oak Road. They are coming back from somewhere. They have already traveled on Oak Road. You might ask those people, “What is on Oak Road? Are there restaurants or shops there? Does it twist and turn?”

Same thing with life. If you are on a path to become a doctor, and you don”t know what it’s like to be a doctor, ask someone who is already a doctor.
